JEET KUNE DO UNLIMITED PHILOSOPHY

Always looking for the truth!

The highest aspiration is to develop love, compassion and humility toward all beings.

We all can change and improve.

We can't fail unless we quit striving toward our goal. You are the only one who can say "I quit!" We are utterly relentless in the pursuit of our goals.

We always have a positive attitude and expect the best outcome from any situation. Always optimistic and thankful.

No limits: using no way as way, having no limitations as limitation.

The individual is more important than any style. This develops a self-empowering attitude.

We keep our ego in check. What we know about ourselves is more important than what someone else may think or say about us.

The secret to proficiency is a consistent and correct practice over a long period of time.

We are polite and friendly to all people from a position of strenght until we are forced to act.

Our martial goals is to be functional in each range of combat, with or without a weapon, against one or more armed or unarmed assailants, in a variety of environments.

JEET KUNE DO UNLIMITED FIGHTING PHILOSOPHY/TACTICS

Think in terms of totality. We can't assume that certain things will happen in real combat. There are no rules.

An attack executed with speed, style (efficient technique) and surprise is nearly impossible to defend against (from Dr. M. Gi, Burmese Bando)

The ability to read an attack will nullify the surprise, and provide the time to deal with speed and choose a counter for the technique (Dr. Gi)
Action is faster than reaction.

We never turn away from aggressive people because we have developed the strenght to look them in the eyes.

Always expect a weapon, even if you don't see one.

Always expect more opponents to jump into a fight.

Always expect the opponent to charge.

Train to attack and defend primary targets primarily.

Look for ways to enhance our attributes while diminishing those of the opponent. - Hit hard, hit fast, hit first.

If a maneuver fails, keep your balance and hit, hit, hit, until another opportunity arises.

Five ways of attack:
Single direct attack
Attack by combinations
Immobilization attack
Attack by drawing
Progressive indirect attack

Three ways of defense:
Passive
Aggressive
Intercepting
